Lin-Manuel Miranda, born January 16, 1980 is a Puerto Rican playwright, composer, rapper, lyricist and actor who is known for creating and starring in the Broadway musicals, In the Heights and Hamilton. Lin co-wrote the songs for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana soundtrack (2016) and also co-starred in the film Mary Poppins Returns. His awards include a Pulitzer Prize, 3 Grammy Awards, a MacArthur Fellowship, an Emmy Award, 3 Tony Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was awarded the Kennedy Center Honor in 2018.
