Salman Rushdie(born on 19th June 1947) is an Indian British writer and novelist and is popular for his novels such as Midnight’s Children (1981) and The Satanic Verses (1988). His novel, Midnight’s Children is the winner of Booker prize of 1981 and was renowned as the best novel of all winners on two different occasions. His works and writings are closely interlinked with Eastern and Western civilizations. He began his career as a writer with an advertising agency.
